Parenting Courses

Raising children has its challenges, as any parent will tell you. However, being a parent is not only a huge responsibility and privilege, but should also be a great joy. To help support you in your role, we run a few different parenting courses for various age ranges in a relaxed environment, where everyone learns together. The courses are designed for any parent or carer of children, whether they consider themselves to have strong parenting skills or are struggling, and whether they are parenting as a couple, a single parent or as a step parent.

Time Out for Parents — The early Years (0-5s)

This course is for parents with children aged 0-5 years old. In six fun weekly sessions we explore parenting issues together in a small supportive group. This course is all about parents helping parents.

We usually run these 6 week courses bi-annually on a Wednesday morning.

The course topics include:

  • What being a parent is really like
  • Children's needs
  • Play & listening
  • Parenting styles & boundaries
  • Discipline & safety
  • The wider family

Although the course and crèche is free, please consider purchasing the course manual which is available on week 1.

If you would like to be sent details about when our next course is taking place, please email

Time Out for Juniors / Parenting Teenagers Course

We have two courses that we have previously run for children in years 3 to 6, and for 11 to 18 years olds. We have plans to run these again in the future, so please check back here for more details at a later date.
